This group showed up for their Extended Family Session. Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins… the whole Fam Jam! Coordinating schedules for this many people can be a little difficult, but it is so worth it to capture the memories! These kids will look totally different next year, and it’s so fun to look back at how everyone changes over the years. These images were captured by Lark Livingston Photography at McCallum Park in Birmingham, Alabama.

The WHOLE family together- how fun are they??
I love to incorporate posed photos with candid ones. If you’ve ever had photos taken with little kids, you know it can get a bit tricky. I like to throw in a quick game or have someone tell a joke to get everyone laughing. The candid shots almost always turn out to be my favorites! They show true emotion and personalities of the family.

An extended family session is also a great time to get a few shots of each family group on their own. You can update your own family photos as well as the whole extended family- its a win win! I love these sessions because there’s so much room to document special relationships with different groupings- like grandparents and kids, or all the cousins together.
