I LOVE my job as a photographer, and am so lucky to be located in the beautiful Birmingham, Alabama. We have so many amazing locations for portrait photography here! This guide is meant to showcase a few of my favorite spots and give you ideas for your upcoming photo session. Take a look below and see which location you love the most!

Altadena Golf Course

Let’s start with my most favorite photography location in Birmingham, Alabama. I take SO many photos here- it is just the prettiest place! I love that it’s never crowded and there are beautiful trees and wide open spaces. There is a lake, pathways to walk on and even adorable benches scattered around. And the lighting is always so good! I couldn’t love it more!

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens is located in Mountain Brook and is such a fun location for photos. There are so many different backgrounds to choose from, including flowers, a white wall, steps and benches to sit on. You can get a really good variety in your gallery at this location. This is a pretty popular photography location in Birmingham, Alabama so it can get a little crowded on a nice weekend. However, it’s a large space so it’s usually not a problem.

There is also a Greenhouse at the Botanical Gardens that I love to use for photo sessions. The lighting is always amazing!

This spot is ideal for families with littles because there is lots of room to move around. I also love it for Senior Girl Sessions- especially in the spring with all the blooming flowers.

Morris Avenue

Morris Avenue in downtown Birmingham is a really cool spot for photo sessions. There is a long cobble stone street, sidewalks with lamp posts, cool doorways and some colored walls that make fun backdrops. There are a few spots with steps for sitting and leaning on as well. This is always a good choice for a Senior Session!

Chace Lake Park

Chace Lake Park in Hoover is another spot that I frequently use for photo sessions. There are wide open natural areas, paved walkways, a lake, a bridge and a few benches scattered around.
