Senior sessions are always a favorite, and this one took place at a beautiful park in Hoover, Alabama. This Vestavia Hills High School senior met me for his session on a gorgeous afternoon, and the setting was perfect for some fun photos.
Like a lot of guys, he started the session a little unsure about being in front of the camera. That’s completely normal. We kept things simple, walked around the park, and eased into it. By the end of the session he told me he was actually having fun, which is always the goal!
He came prepared with several outfit options, which gave us a lot of variety in his gallery. We photographed a dressy look, a more casual outfit, and finished with a college shirt to celebrate what’s coming next. Outfit changes are a great way to add personality to senior photos and make the gallery feel more complete.
Senior sessions don’t have to feel stiff or awkward. My goal is always to create a relaxed environment where seniors can just be themselves. Whether we’re photographing at a park in Hoover, downtown Birmingham, or another local spot, we keep the session easygoing and fun.
