This lifestyle newborn session was all about welcoming baby Barrett! There’s something so special about photographing a family in their own space. Right where they’ve brought baby home, where siblings have already picked “their” spot on the couch to snuggle, and where the everyday magic of new life unfolds. I recently had the honor of capturing a beautiful in home lifestyle newborn session and I’m still swooning over all the images we captured.
Mom and Dad
One of the things I love most about in home sessions is how relaxed they feel. There’s no rushing to get out the door, no forgotten pacifiers or extra outfits left behind. It’s just your family, in your home, doing what you do best. We keep things simple, natural, focusing on connection, emotion, and those tiny newborn details that change so quickly- like tiny toes, sleepy stretches and the way their head fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.
And here’s the best part: you don’t need a picture-perfect home to have a beautiful session. Truly, all we need is one or two spaces with some good natural window light. A bedroom, nursery, or that cozy little corner where you rock your baby- and we can create something magical. It’s not about having a spotless house or styled shelves. It’s about capturing your family in the realness of this season.
The Whole Family
During this session, big brother and big sister popped in and out of the room quickly for photos. And honestly, that’s exactly how it should be. We keep things light and flexible, especially with older siblings. They were both so patient and sweet with their new baby- giving gentle snuggles and proud smiles that made for the sweetest moments.
Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, these sessions are all about your real life. No stiff posing, no pressure- just love, light and the beginning of a brand new chapter.
