As I look back on 2024, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for an incredible year of growth and creativity. Being a still “newish” photographer comes with its challenges, but this year was filled with new clients, amazing sessions, and so many opportunities to learn and push myself. Every session I had the privilege to photograph helped shape my journey and made this year unforgettable.

While I can’t possibly include every session in the blog post, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorites. These are the images that stand out because of the stories behind them- maybe it was crazy weather, tricky lighting, or capturing a personality that just shined through. Other times, everything came together- the light, the outfits, the personalities- to create a little magic.

This blog is a celebration of the moments I’ve been so lucky to document and the incredible people I’ve met along the way. I’m so thankful for the trust my clients place in me and can’t wait to see what 2025 brings!

Newborns

After taking a newborn photography class last year, I knew this was a niche I wanted to add to my work. As a mom of four, I’ve always loved babies, but photographing these tiny little bundles has been an entirely new (and rewarding) challenge. There’s something so special about capturing those first few days of life. Tiny fingers, sleepy smiles, and the excitement of their families.

This year has been such a fun start to this journey and I’m still completely obsessed with learning everything I can about newborn photography. From perfecting posing and lighting to creating a calm, cozy atmosphere for my littlest clients, I’ve enjoyed every step of this process. I’m so excited to continue growing in this area and can’t wait to meet even more sweet babies in 2025!

Seniors are so much fun to photograph as they prepare to graduate and step into the next chapter of their lives. There’s something so special about capturing their excitement, anticipation, and unique personalities during such a big milestone. Every session feels like a celebration of who they are and all that’s ahead for them.

Families

Now on to my first photography love- capturing the whole family! Family sessions are so special because these are the images families treasure for years. Images reminding them of specific ages, stages and the unique dynamics of their lives. I love the blend of personalities, the energy, and the endless possibilities for groupings and poses that make each session so unique.

I’ll admit, I actually daydream about how I’d pose a group of people, and I’m constantly on the lookout for the perfect lighting no matter where I go. There’s just something magical about freezing those connections and turning them into memories that last a lifetime.
